    Take a good look at where your money goes. Write down every penny you spend for the next month. Keep a little notebook in your pocket - or keep track in your planner. At the end of 30 days take a look at where your money goes. See any surprises? Are there places where you might be able to cut back or even eliminate some spending?

    One pretty safe bet for long term savings - is your health. Take care of your body and you'll spend way less on health care! If you or a loved one has been to the Doctor lately you  already know how expensive even routine Doctor visits have become. Need a specialist or, heaven forbid, hospitalization and you are in for some expensive medical bills!

     Take care of your body. It is the only one you get! Treat your mind and body as a temple and keep both as clean and healthy as you can. Visualize the kind of healthy body you strive for. A few simple habits can help us to live and hopefully enjoy a long and healthy life.

    Healthy people tend to live longer and require less medical attention. Save your money - Strive for   good health. You'll save a ton of money over the course of your lifetime - and probably be much happier too! Healthy people tend to be happier and have far less stress!

 Eating healthy is another area where you can save big! You can still enjoy many of the foods you like today! Healthy eating is not boring or all about being a vegetarian. ( Although I hear that some vegetarians save a whole lot of money - just not buying meat. ) Not me - I like a good steak. And Pizza! And ...... well - you get the picture! Enjoy your favorite foods and try to keep eating healthy!

    Another place we can often save money is around the house. Have you swapped out all those old fashioned light bulbs yet ? If not, start replacing them with those compact flourescent lightbulbs and you'll start using way less energy to light your rooms! Compact flourescents pay for themselves  quickly.     Look around your house and see how many remote controls you have. Every device that uses a remote is constantly using a little electricity. Put a cheap power strip between the TV and the wall. Then power off the power strip before you go to work - or bed. Cut these all-day or phantom loads and save a little on your electricity bill! You can take some simple steps to realize lower utility bills!


    Enjoy the serenity of a nice, comfortable home and safeguard your family and hard earned possessions! Invest in a few very simple improvements around your house and you'll greatly reduce your odds of a home invasion or burglary. The bad guys don't want any hassles. They want easy pickings. A few inexpensive steps can help keep the bad guys away from your home!

    Saving money can require some discipline. You might need to set some goals and embrace a new habit or two! It's OKAY! Take small steps. Lots of little drops of water eventually fill a very large pail! Do yourself a favor and start saving money! The sooner you start the larger your nest-egg can grow! Teach your children the importance of good money habits. Teach them to save their money at an early age.  Try these money saving tips for children.

     Get a little exercise every day. Exercise is one of the best habits anyone can adopt. Walking is  a great stress reliever and good for your waistline. Try to walk at least 20 minutes a day. Can't make it to the gym? Try some simple, yet effective exercises in the privacy of your home several times a week. Do you have room for an exercise bike? Or how how about a small set of free weights? Many health enthusiasts are saving money using low impact exercise equipment right in the comfort of their own  home!
